I could not agree more with his column this morning. Money quote:
The point is that if South Africa and its neighbours had been willing to learn from history, they would have known by now that Mugabe is a liar who has no respect for them or the offices they occupy.

I do not buy the idea that African leaders (Mbeki especially) forgot what happened previously!
Some better explanation as to why they
went through the motions they did in Dar es Salaam is needed.
And it's not even Mugabe's recent discretions that have been ignored. His brutality against the MDC should be no suprise when one remembers the killings in Ndebeleland in mid-80's.
