Monty Python and the life of Thabo

Xolela Mangcu once again hits the nail on the head in his column in today's Business Day. He deals, in the context of a third term for President Thabo Mbeki, with the same issue of leadership that I touch on below. Read it.

It is the prevailing uncertainty that has led to actions like those of ANC (EC) to beg Mr Mbeki to take another term. When the vast array of candidates are (a) outright capitalists (b) pompous talking suits or (c) have displayed inexcusable incompetence, this is when Stone Sizani goes for the 'tried and tested' choice. Until candidates show presidential qualities the masses will wander about. No one bets on a sleeping horse.
